Beach Park looks like a mixed-use riverside park with a real skate area that skaters actually talk about. The skatepark includes a bowl/kidney-shaped pool, flatground, some street-style space, half pipes, and enough transition that advanced riders can have fun, but several reviews say the transitions are weak and the pool is rough or in need of a redo. Beginners and kids seem to do well here too: one parent said it was a great place for a daughter to learn basics, and others liked it for scooters and younger skaters. The vibe is very casual and family-oriented in the daytime, though crowding varies and some people say it gets busy with teens or scooter kids. Conditions are a mixed bag: there are lights now, but people still complain the park can be hot with little shade near the skate area, and the restrooms are frequently dirty, closed, or missing doors/TP. The biggest positives are the park’s size, free access, and variety; the biggest complaints are maintenance, trash, homeless activity, and squirrel holes around the broader park.
