Bakersfield’s skate scene is a mix of old-school grit, free access, and a few parks that still get heavy use from skaters, scooter kids, and families. The reviews show a city where people keep coming back for the flow, the pool lines, and the fact that these spots are actually skateable — even when they’re rough around the edges.
If you want the biggest draw, the main Skate Park gets praise for its huge ramps, pool, boxes, rails, and wide-open flow, though reviewers also call out cracks, bad transitions, and no lighting or amenities. North Beardsley Skatepark is the more dialed-in option for smooth runs, basics, and a smaller bowl, while Beach Park is the beginner-friendly river spot people like for early-hour sessions and a more relaxed vibe. Heritage Skatepark is more stripped-down and prefab, but still gets love for its updated look and simple fun.

“By far the best skate park in Bakerdfield!!! I mean there are many cool ones but definitely the biggest one around with tons of ramps to hit! Not to mention an insane pool!! Great park for all ages !! Tons of talent in town!”
“There is too much empty space in the middle and the huge down rails seem a bit excessive. The flat bars and flat ledges are cramped together. But for being an old skatepark it has a lot of good features and it’s actually pretty fun. The bowl is ridiculously steep just like a backyard pool which I kind of respect.”
“This is a really nice skatepark. You can pump through and around the entire thing which makes a really nice smooth run through. Pump right into the halfpipe and just float out and down the spine.. so many different smooth runs without ever getting into the bowl.”
“This skatepark almost got four stars because it has pretty much everything and the construction is well done. I just think if the flat bar was a few inches lower and had more space away from the grass that would make that flat ground section perfect. Other than that I really liked the flat ledge, manual pad, flat bar combination. Good park to dial in the basics.”
“I'm rating only for the skate park we did not enjoy the park area because of the homeless that were lurking around. I took my twin 7 year old boys with their scooters and even though some of the drops are to advance for them. They had so much fun on some of the other skate park drop ins. I would say that the skate park itself is not as slick as some others we have been too which made it better for beginners like my boys.”
