Memphis has a real split personality when it comes to skating: polished city parks with smooth concrete and lighting, plus gritty DIY spots that feel built by and for the local scene. Reviews here keep coming back to the same thing — the skating is good, the community is strong, and the details matter, whether that’s a bowl line, a snake run, or just a place to roll without getting chased off.
Raleigh Springs Town Center Skate Park is the city’s cleanest all-ages option, with skaters calling out the smooth concrete, bowl area, street section, and variety for different skill levels. Tobey Skate Park gets love for its well-built layout, mini ramp, snake run, bowls, and street obstacles, while Al Town D.I.Y. brings the raw Memphis energy: artwork, quarter pipes, a halfpipe, fun boxes, and the kind of locals-and-lore vibe you only get at a true DIY spot.

Real reviews from the local skate community.
“This is a great skatepark with a variety of ramps hills, etc at various heights and depths for all levels of skill. The surrounding area is well maintained. There is also a paved walking trail that goes around the skatepark and full complex. We can't wait to go back.”
“Fun park. Good bowl area, a bit more flat than most bowls but if you stay in the walls you can build speed. Fun street section as well, with mellower obstacles to learn on. Super smooth concrete”
“Great park! I do wish there was more shade though. My son loves it and has been begging to go back. It does get crowded though with the bigger, older, and more experienced riders and skaters on the weekends. Looks like the best times to go would be in the mornings or during the weekdays.”
“Great skate park. There’s a 2 ft mini ramp, some nice kickers, a three stair, large and medium sized bowls. A little on the smaller side but over all a great place to skate.”
“Well designed park. Concrete is in good shape. Features all flow well with a lot of variety.”
“This is one of the coolest diy skateparks I’ve ever been to. Was just passing thru from Dallas but any time I’m in the area I will definitely make a pit stop here. Locals were dope and the skate was badass.”
“Sweet spot for skateboarding or bmx. Or even rc. Cool paint designs. Close to home and everyone there is always so nice. No lifeguard on duty. Skate at your own risk. Quarter pipes one halfpipe and plenty of fun box to go around. Love it like it and none else like it!”
