This is a scenic, mostly car-free-feeling memorial park on Roosevelt Island—great for a calm skate break, photos, and skyline views. Skaters should plan around the park’s limited hours and expect it to be more of a strolling/relaxing spot than a dedicated skate-amenity park.
Park hours vary by season and it is reported to close at 5pm on weekdays; also reported closed on Tuesdays and after 7pm every day. Restrooms are available (some reviewers suggest nearby Cornell Tech facilities). No entrance fees; parking is available but not free (street parking sometimes, plus a nearby garage).
Overlooking Manhattan, this triangular-shaped park was designed by master architect Louis I. Kahn.
